Bueng Kan, Thailand (October 2015 – February 2016)
Bueng Kan is a province in NE Thailand, aka Isaan. I lived in the center of BK. This town lies next to the Mekong River; the 12th largest in the world. It flows through China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar. In March 2011, Bueng Kan became Thailand’s 74th province after splitting from Nong Khai. Within this town, there’s two 7/11 stores, a market, countless coffee shops, street vendors, and restaurants just about everywhere. You can walk to the river in about 7 minutes from the center of town and the best part: you can see Laos on the other side.
